Originally from Norway, Heidi graduated with a BSc Honours degree in prosthetics and orthotics from Strathclyde University in 1998, and since then has worked as an Orthotist in Norway and the UK. She also holds a BSc first class honours degree in Health, Exercise and Sport Science from University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC).
During her time as an orthotist, Heidi has built up experience across a wide range of patient groups, including people with diabetes, arthritis and neurological conditions. Patients have a wide range of abilities, from people with severe physical and learning disabilities, to hobby sports people and athletes, from the very old to the very young. Specialist areas of expertise are foot biomechanics and paediatric (children’s) orthotics.
Heidi is a keen rugby player, and has played for local club teams, as well as gaining international honours with Wales students and Norway.
